Software Updates
- To check your firmware version press the Menu (M) Button and navigate to General Settings, Firmware Version, and compare the version number against the firmware file above. If the versions do not match please follow the instructions to upgrade your firmware.
- Format the included 8GB Micro SD card using your Dash Cam or computer (for instructions on how to format your memory card see the included manual).
- Note: be sure to save any video content you want to keep BEFORE formatting the memory card. Formatting will delete all saved data from the card (see the manual for instructions on how to save videos to your computer).
- Download the above firmware file to your computer and unzip the file. The file extension should be .bin, if it is .zip the camera will not update.
- The downloaded firmware file can be loaded onto your Dash Cam in two ways:
- Micro SD to SD Adaptor
- Insert the included 8GB Micro SD card into the Micro SD to SD Adaptor. Then, insert the adaptor into your computer’s memory card slot.
- Included USB Cable
- Use the included USB cable to connect your camera to your computer.
- Once you’ve successfully connected your devices, navigate to the folder that contains the firmware file. Copy the firmware file into the main directory of the camera’s memory card. The new firmware file should be the only thing on your camera’s memory card.
- Safely eject the memory card using the below instructions for your Operating System.

- In the sidebar under the Devices header, click the Eject button to the right of the memory card.

- In the sidebar under the This PC header, right click the memory card’s icon and click the Eject button to the right of the memory card.
- Power off your Dash Cam.
- Insert the Micro SD card into the Dash Cam.
- Power on your Dash Cam. A progress bar will be displayed on the screen.
- When the update is complete, the Dash Cam will turn off automatically.
- Remove the Memory Card and format it on your computer to remove the update file.
- Reinsert the Memory Card back into your Dash Cam.
- Power on your Dash Cam and enjoy the latest firmware Car and Driver has to offer.
